Sustainability work, run like an international firm — by students.
Green Guru Project is a student-run sustainability nonprofit working across three UN SDGs — Zero Hunger, Decent Work, Climate Action — with 13 students on 4 continents. An org that distributed has no shared surface: programs lived in chat threads and slide decks, and partners had nowhere to see what the team actually did.
I joined as CTO and own the technical side. I designed and built the site as the org's public face and internal map — one section per pillar with its own metrics, pages for the food-rescue line, the Personal Finance Project, and the Neighborhood Fridge kits, and a team directory that makes 13 people across time zones legible as one organization. Deployed on Vercel with a content structure the non-technical team can keep current.
The site is now how the org reports its work: 1,700+ pounds of food rescued, the ongoing finance curriculum, the recurring fridge restock cycle. Each pillar has a place to put its numbers, which is what turns a year of activity into a record.
Hand the stack off cleanly. The site should outlive any one cohort, so the next step is documentation and a content workflow the leadership team can run without me.
